The clock was ticking and in just under two hours you witnessed an outdated, underperforming bathroom be transformed into a beautiful custom bath using today’s most current trends.

Our lucky winner was Doreen and here is her bath. Comment below if you would be interested in another Design Live presentation.

design considerations

Doreen's husband is tall, very tall. We included a 3d model of a person approximately 78" tall. He needed a larger shower and didn't want to have to crouch when using his vanity mirror.

Moving the cabinetry to the other wall allowed us to make the shower larger. The old shower was about 12 square foot while the new one is about 25 square foot. It is still possible to adjust the size of the tub deck vs. the shower to fill their needs.

It was the opinion of the people in the room that glass block is "old school" but it's a better way to incorporate a window in a shower.

Notice how the wasted space next to the old tub deck is now gone.

dream bath

This was as close as Doreen has been to having her dream bath. I'm glad we were able to propose solutions that she had not considered before.

Everyone in the audience enjoyed sharing their past experiences and opinions. One question brought up by an audience member was about the use of Solatubes in the bathroom. Good Question!

The event could not have been better. (Except if only I could draw a lot faster!) Thanks to Doreen for being such a fantastic participant.
